Calvary Chapel of Phelan

Ministries

Gold dove
Children: Our church is growing in many ways. We now have over 300 children involved in our Sunday School ministry. We offer age appropriate classes for toddlers through Junior High at each of the three Sunday services, as well as for our Thursday evening studies. We provide nursery care at all of our scheduled services.

Youth: We have a vision to see the youth of our community coming to Christ, being encouraged in their faith, and being equipped to minister to others. On Thursday nights, we have both Junior High and Senior High ministries during our mid-week service. We also have a Tuesday night High School discipleship study. Our P.Y.R.O. Teams (Prayerful Youth Reaching Out) are being trained in evangelism, teaching, drama, and music. This summer's calendar was filled with fun, faith-stretching and fulfilling events, including outreaches into Mexico and Ecuador. For information about our Youth Ministry, please contact our Youth Pastor, Zeke Flores or call the office.

Young Adults Fellowship: Ministering to kids right out of high school to age 29, helping them deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Meets Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM
For information about our Young Adults Fellowship, please contact Assistant Pastor Gary Malkus, or call the office.

Home Fellowships: There are evening Bible studies for small groups in home's throughout the area almost every night, where the atmosphere is casual, and there is time for worship, the Word, questions, discussions, fellowship, and prayer. Special studies are being hosted for married couples and college-aged singles. Contact the church for details.

FMO (For Men Only) Ministries: Our FMO ministry meets every Saturday morning for Bible study and prayer at 8:00 AM. The Men's Retreat is the last weekend in October each year. Contact John Goodwin for information or call the church office, (760) 868-5102. Call the office for retreat price and registration information.

Women's Ministries: The 2003 Women's Retreat will take place April 11-13 at the Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Murietta.

Worship & Music: Whether we are gathering for a church service, a home study, youth meeting, prison fellowship, men's study or women's study, we value a time of worship in song. Our worship ministry incorporates a number of musicians and singers who desire to present the very best for the Lord, truly worship Him, in both our lives and our music. We welcome mature musicians and singers with a heart for worship to join us on the first Friday of each month for an evening of fellowship, worship and Bible study, from 7:00-9:00 PM. Our style of worship is contemporary and informal. We are excited about our Stone Upon Stone worship cassette, featuring 15 original songs written by members of our worship team. You can order a copy for your personal worship, or to learn new songs for your church or small study to sing. Songbooks are also available.

King's Kids: Our Kings Kids Mid-Week Ministry is for pre-kindergarten students and is open Tuesday and Thursday 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon, Sept - June. Our purpose for Kings Kids is to prepare the children academically and socially for kindergarten as well as to nurture them spiritually. Our class size is limited to 16 students with two teachers so our teacher / student ratio is 8 to 1. We use the Writing Road to Reading language arts program that integrates all of the language strands. This program emphasizes multi-sensory instruction by allowing students to hear, see, say and write sounds and words. The goal of this program is to create lifelong learners by developing skilled readers, critical listeners, accomplished speakers, accurate spellers and confident writers. For more information, contact Director Ann Litch.

New Jerusalem Christian Academy: We have a private Christian School Independent Study Program for Kindergarten through 12th grade students as part of our ministry to families in our community. This home study program provides assistance and encouragement to parent/teachers, and provides a school identity for the students. There are monthly teachers meetings, school photos, yearbooks, field trips, SAT testing and other events. For more information, contact Chuck Hewitt or call the school office at (760) 868-1103 .
